Alternative Stories About Assistive Robots
Citizen Partizipation Format
What do robots that support us in our daily lives look like—and do they need to look like humans to do so? As researchers, we invite you to explore new visions of care and assistance robots. Together, we’ll examine the expectations and assumptions underlying our ideas and discover small, embedded, and playful technologies that can provide support without replacing human closeness and care.
Using a creative storytelling method developed in research, we’ll then design future scenarios for care in the year 2040: What technologies do we want? What should support us—and what are we willing to consciously do without?
The resulting visions will be shared and showcased in a temporary exhibition. No prior technical knowledge is required. The workshop is open to anyone interested—with or without caregiving experience—and invites participants to reflect together on the “good” care technologies of tomorrow. The results may subsequently be incorporated into our research.
