Embodied Resilience
Experiencing the Body Beyond Performance
Workshop
How can movement change our relationship to ourselves and to others?
Maïmouna Coulibaly’s “Booty Therapy®” combines dance, rhythm, breath, and improvisation into a communal experience. The focus is not on perfect movement, but on the joy of consciously perceiving one’s own body.
Drawing on African and diaspora dance traditions, the workshop demonstrates how movement can empower, relieve stress, and enhance physical and emotional well-being. The body is also understood as a vessel for memories and emotions. “Booty Therapy®” offers a direct, physical approach to topics such as resilience and community.
No prior dance experience is required. The workshop is open to anyone curious about how movement can become a tool for mindfulness and communal care. Clothing that allows for freedom of movement is recommended.
