Citizen Partizipation Format

The medicine of the future promises a longer, healthier life. But how do we actually feel about our own finitude?

Finitude does not only mean death. It manifests itself in many transitions throughout life: in the end of childhood. In menopause, which brings one phase of life to a close and opens a new one. In retirement, which brings an end to a professional identity. In waning strength, in saying goodbye to people, roles, and opportunities. Each of these experiences raises the same fundamental question: How do I relate to what is ending and to what comes next?

In the “Speaking & Listening” format, visitors are invited to explore this question in a safe space. In small groups, participants take turns speaking freely about their own experiences with finitude, while the others listen attentively without commenting, judging, or offering advice.
