Communal Walk through the City

Who shapes the city—and who shapes change? A stroll through Halle opens up new perspectives on familiar places.

How does a city change, and who actually gets to help shape that change? The starting point for this approximately 90-minute city walk to the Saline Museum is the SILBERSALZ Festival Center on Große Ulrichstraße. From here, the walk leads to selected locations in Halle’s downtown area and ties in with an exhibition project by the Agentur für Aufbruch, which examines urban structural change from the perspective of youths.

As part of a project workshop, young people explore the use, reuse, and design of public spaces through art and research. On their city walk, Felix Kolb and Cornelia Deimer combine the young people’s ideas and concepts with urban planning and historical perspectives on urban change. This creates new perspectives on familiar places and ideas for the city of tomorrow.
