How can we shape the energy transition in a social and sustainable way?

The energy transition can only succeed together. At the same time, it sparks uncertainty for many including concerns about high costs and mistrust of new technologies. How can we make the energy transition socially equitable, fair, and sustainable? Which new technologies – and also which political measures – are needed? How can costs be distributed more fairly? And what role does citizen participation play in ensuring a just transformation?

Participants will discuss these and other questions with experts from the natural, economic, and social sciences. Following short talks from the researchers, the debate will be opened up to everyone. Inspired by the British House of Commons format, participants position themselves in the room according to their opinions. This not only creates a snapshot of viewpoints, but also a dynamic atmosphere.
