How does the world around us change when everything inside us suddenly begins to tumble?

Images disintegrate, sounds shatter, structures emerge and vanish again: In “IMMORTELLE,” Canadian composer and media artist Line Katcho transforms states of psychological turmoil into an intense audiovisual experience. The performance sensually reflects how a troubled mind perceives and reshapes the outside world.

In an unpredictable stream of visual and acoustic fragments, the artist explores change as a permanent state. Transitions, reversals, and metamorphoses destabilize familiar orders and give rise to ever-new forms. Human and environment, interior and exterior, transience and permanence enter into a tense interplay. Intense, abstract, and immediate.

Line Katcho makes work that stays with you. The Montreal composer and new media artist operates at the intersection of sound and image — not to illustrate or explain, but to provoke, to move, to leave a mark. Across AV performance, film, virtual reality, and projection mapping, she crafts experiences that are at once visceral and cinematic — fusing abstraction with narrative, experimentation with tradition, raw affect with formal precision.
It has earned her a place on some of the world's most respected stages: Ars Electronica, Sonar+D Barcelona, and MUTEK, alongside official selections at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the Festival international du court métrage Clermont-Ferrand.
