What can we learn from space psychology for our daily lives?

In her lecture, space psychologist Alexandra de Carvalho takes us on an analog mission. As a team psychologist, she supports analog astronauts who test on Earth what humans need to survive and adapt, both mentally and physically, beyond our planet. During the weeks or months they spend in isolation on deep-sea missions or mountain expeditions, experiments are conducted, often exposing themselves intentionally to stressful situations. Alexandra de Carvalho is responsible for their mental well-being—and in doing so, often ventures into uncharted scientific territory.

She presents techniques from space research that can also help us face challenges and crises here on Earth: new methods against loneliness, enriched with vivid anecdotes from space psychology.
