Science in a Nutshell: Here, the phase-out of coal takes center stage.

science2public is organizing Germany’s second “Structural Change” Science Slam in Halle in collaboration with the Francke Foundations. Researchers and science communicators from the Science Cube’s Open Academy 2026 will take the stage to present their research, explain how their ideas are helping to shape structural change, and discuss how they can engage citizens in conversation about these topics. Short and to the point, with humor and no footnotes.

All innovations come from the region and revolve around the question: What comes after coal? The teams will showcase their ideas and research projects using card games, scientific cooking evenings, hemp furniture, and new energy solutions for tomorrow’s everyday life. No prior knowledge is required—just curiosity.

In cooperation with Science Cube, powered by science2public, and the Francke Foundations. Funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
