Interactive Educational Role-Playing Game

Your health data is valuable—But who actually decides what happens to it?

Wearables and health apps generate millions of data points every day. Analyzing this data with artificial intelligence opens up new possibilities for prevention and personalized medicine, but at the same time raises fundamental questions about privacy, discrimination, and data security.

MEDILARP brings these tensions to life in an interactive live-action role-playing game. What makes it unique: Participants don’t take on the roles of doctors or patients, but rather the roles of the data and apps themselves. As a heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, or health app, they negotiate whom they trust, what data they collect, and what risks this entails. After the game, the experiences are discussed in a group reflection session—because once you’ve stepped into the role of a piece of data or an app, you’ll think differently about your own health data.
