Is my heart a part of me? Does it share my experiences? Or is it merely a lump of flesh, a muscle, a pump, an organ easily replaced by another?

In our society, pigs are only considered valuable once they are dead, despite the fact that they are so similar to humans that their hearts can be used as donor organs. In a future in which hearts are grown in pigs to save human lives, the line between the two species begins to blur. Is this the moment to rethink the human–pig relationship?
