What Languages does Structural Transformation speak? From “I” to “We.”

How do science and society communicate with one another—and how can understanding be achieved even on controversial topics? To kick off the third Regional Lecture, science2public’s Science Cube brings together current issues from the region with international perspectives from research. Following a scientific presentation, there will be a discussion on how global research shapes Saxony-Anhalt and its universities, and how local people benefit from it.

Then it’s the audience’s turn: The “Revierdebattenbox” (eng. Territory Debate Box) brings together people who may never have met before. In a fast-paced question-and-answer game, they first seek common ground before delving deeper into different perspectives using the ZEIT format “My Country Talks.”

The Regional Lecture will then tour seven partner universities in the Central German mining region.

Host: Isa Fünfhausen, Director of the Open Academy at Science Cube by science2public / Ulrike Zimmermann, ZEIT Publishing Group, Project Manager for “My Community Talks”
