Science Market – Structural Change and Us*
The Science Market opens its doors – bringing structural change to life!

Around 20 companies, organizations, universities, and initiatives from Halle and the surrounding region are actively shaping this transformation. They showcase innovative ideas, pioneering technologies, and new fields of work that are driving the coal phase-out and the structural transition in Central Germany. From cutting-edge research fresh from the lab to inspiring insights into the industries of tomorrow, the Science Market invites visitors of all ages to explore, participate, and join the conversation.

31 October – “Opportunities in Structural Change”
A meeting point for skilled professionals and young people interested in training, study, or career opportunities in the region. Here, the future prospects of Central Germany become tangible.

1 & 2 November – “Hands-On Structural Change”
The market square transforms into an interactive experience space for the city – especially families. Creative activity stations make future topics accessible in an engaging and playful way.

The Long Table of Structural Change
Each day from 17:00–18:00, the Long Table invites everyone to discover and taste the future together. Our hosts present culinary visions of tomorrow:

Friday: Anhalt University introduces algae as a versatile resource for the food of the future.
Saturday: IPK Gatersleben highlights the bean as a sustainable crop.
Sunday: losmachen e. V. shows how creative approaches to food can help combat waste.

The Science Market is presented by the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Culture of Saxony-Anhalt.

It is curated by science2public e. V. and its ScienceCube Competence Center, in cooperation with the Federal Employment Agency, Jobcenter, AMU Association, mint4elements, the partner universities of BBdW, structural change research projects, Smart City Halle, and Jugend forscht
